Thanks to everyone that attended the Mothers Day Weekend of racing at Miles Mountain. The tracks were perfect, the weather held out for us and everyone had a lot of fun.
We hope to see you all for the "King of the Mountain" weekend of May 24th and 25th.
Saturday 10am to 4pm open practice.
Saturday night is the first round of the "Saturday Night Under the Lights" Supercross series, which by the way includes pitbikes. The Supercross series is sponsored by Bottle Run Xtremem of Williamsport, PA. And then Sunday is our "King of the Mountain" Motocross race sponsored by Arkport Cycles of Arkport NY and co-sponsored by Heysham Bros. LLC Excavating and Construction.

I have to agree it was a fantastic wekend on the mountain! With one exception.... and its the reason I am typing with one hand. I didn't even make it out of practice Sunday morning. I shattered the bone it my thumb when it slammed into my handlebar on lap 2 of practice. I am going to get pins in it today and will be out of commission until the end of June. Looks like now we will be focusing on my 8 year old and the 90 quad class instead so its not all bad news!
Just one reminder to all you tough guys out there... I continued to ride after I felt what was a pop in my hand but as it got harder to engage the clutch I soon realized something serious happened and when I pulled off the track I noticed my thumb was completely mis-shaped and my wife talked me into going to the ER. It was a good thing too considering the chances for serious nerve or muscle damage in my hand. Always get checked out! Even if you don't think its too serious. The track EMTs are there to assist, not diagnose and there is truly no replacement for getting real medical assistance so that you can come back and race another day. Tough sometimes is just plain STUPID! _________________ B. Kehoe #812

Sorry to hear about your hand Kehoe, I hope the pins work out.
the MX track was in awesome shape (the grass in the one turn was one lined).
I was not riding at my best, but I did have a good battle with Jason Wooding in both of my motos (he won out both times).
the wind was kicking my ass on the jumps.
Here are a few pics that my wife (Kerry) took.
I will see you guys at the next race at the Mountain. |

Last Sunday was my first trip to Miles Mountain, and I must say that it is my new favorite track. I will be back for practice this weekend, and racing on both the 24th and 25th.
I can't wait. |

Bill, I raced both 125C and 250C, and finished right around mid pack, which was pretty good for me, since I had never even seen the track in person before Sunday.
I don't know if I'll be up tomorrow for practice, as the weather looks iffy, and I'm probably going to have to work. But I'll be up for the 24th-25th.
The only thing that I would like different at Miles is to change the 4-stroke class to a 2-stroke class.
Greywolf, I'll deffinately say hi. |

Sorry to hear how bad the thumb is.......hope it heals up quick.
This was our first trip out to Miles Mountain......though it was a long one, we enjoyed the drive and the scenery. Our son loved the quad track.......its kept in excellent condition and it is obvious how much consideration is given to the quad racers. We would like to thank Miles Mountain for their kindness and welcoming manner. We are looking forward to our next trip out at the end of June.
