So....what are the classes for bikes?? I see Bee Wear posted some classes. But I talked to people that said there WAS a 125 C class, but you could run a 250 four stroke in it....

I guess I need to simplify my question. My son is riding a 250 four stroke, he is a C rider. Last year he raced 125C. I know the AMA has changed things up. When we come down for the next race, what class will he be signing up for??

Hey Bill,

Cody will now be in the 122cc to 250cc Novice class. This is the old 125C. You can run a 250f or 250 2 stroke. They now have a separate 125 2 stroke class. Take care...hope to see you at the races soon!

I dont think D4 is running a 125 only class.

He can race both the 250C (former 125 C) and Open C (former 250C) on that bike. The open allows 124-??? engine size so 125's can duke it out with 450's!

Hi Guys - great that everyone is using the forum. This is the place to get advice and pass along info - GREAT !
Just to add, the classes did change as per AMA, which has been discussed here. Now on the site you will see the points classes we will be running for the season. We did include a 2-stroke class, which is only 125cc 2 strokes ages 12+ any skill level. We did not call it a 125 class, because we were afraid it might confuse people. we thought it might be a small extra class that some might like to run, so we included it. Our philosophy is to run a class and have only a few people race it rather than have fewer classes. We want people to be able to run a class they are comfortable in and safe in. As we all say, this is not for a living - everyone has to go to work or school the next day. Having the extra classes lets people ride what they want and have fun - and that's why we're here !

Just wanted to say my two bits about the new rules.I wish I new this before we bought a 4 stroke 250. They say"AMA" that a 250 two stroke is alowed to compeat in the same class as a 250 4 stroke bike how can they say this even compares.But this rule onley applies to amaturer riders.Why is that? Have a 2 stroke open class and see were this gets you. I love 2 strokes but its a lost class when they are not bulding them anymore. All I am saying is lets make a little fair. look out for next years rules. Rummer I heard is a new 350 4 stroke bike is near. Rolling Eyes
