Cohocton?I know there have been some issues, but why isn't Cohocton included on the schedule? Dave posted that they intend to run D4 races in 2008.
Oh yeah...the new site is awesome and I am stoked about the East-West shootout! Things are looking good!

I hope so. I talked to Dave the other day and he indicated that there would be D4 races and more practices. Practice sessions are great. Less expensive than race day, lots of track time and the opportunity to work on particular sections of the track. It would probably really help the turn outs at the track in general.

CohoctonI agree having practice on Sat before the race day is great and we always tried to do it. My only comment is that it would be much better if the Sat practice started earlier at Cohocton. Starting that late didn't allow for much track time compared to other locations that ran practice Sat for most of the day. In addition, if anything happened during practice, you were stuck working in the dark late Sat night to get things ready for Sunday.

I am not bashing anyone. I just read on Savannahmx web site that Coh. was looking at available dates in their ''outlaw series''. Can they run in another series while being AMA d/4 or race on their own or do all the above ? Probably , just have to come up with insurance for non AMA events. In general the big problem that may arise is attendance for all tracks so that eventually the riders will pay more to race. This is NOT pointing the finger at any one track just a observation on my part. Lets say on race day that Frozen is d-3/ Palmyra is wnyma/ Coh. is d-4/Savannah is amra/ Miles is D-5 or 6/ And Maple is on their own. The riders will have a lot of choices but the turnouts may be low at all the tracks in which case the promoter makes zip. So what do they do ? jack prices up ? Now some will say competion is good and they will be forced into improving their product, maybe. Then again maybe the weak will be eaten up and their tracks will be gone forever. To bad they can't work together on some of these issues before it's to late.

The Key word is "LOOKING". I talked with Mark at length about opportunities with the new outlaw series. BOM you are making a very valid point that has been a stuggle for more than a few years now. Cohocton will only be able to run one or the other. We may not choose either one and just pick dates where it suites the riders ability to attend. Your point of so many tracks running at once is our main concern. We have not made any decisions as of yet.

BOM now that you are a Rider Rep and will be heading off to meetings. keep this in mind. you will notice that 1/2 of promoters agree with you (i know because we talk to them too). the other 1/2 think they should be the only track around. you'll see what i'm talking about...

I think you should have as many practices as you can and try to get in the WNYMA. I know it's too late this year but maybe next season, even for one or two events. They have the best rider turnouts and Freedom, to say it lightly, is terrible. Maybe you can push that guy out. The facility is second level to Cohocton and closer for WNYMA. Can we get a petition together to eliminate the track? As far as the Outlaw Series, I think it is too far to travel between tracks.
